The POLA token

Fixed supply. No inflation. No games.

POLA is the native settlement asset of Polaris Chain: 210,000,000,000 tokens minted once at genesis and never minted again, with no inflation and no burn. Every transaction fee is flat and published rather than auctioned, and splits automatically between validators and two reserve pools, so total supply and fee logic stay fixed no matter how much activity the network carries.

POLA token supply: 210 billion, fixed

POLA is the native asset of Polaris. Total supply is fixed at 210,000,000,000 POLA, created once at genesis. Nothing creates more: not staking rewards, governance, a bridge or an emergency patch.

POLA has 6 decimals. One POLA is 1,000,000 base units, so small payments price precisely. The large supply and the 6 decimals suit a payment asset, and the total still fits in a 64 bit integer.

No inflation and no burn

POLA has no inflation. Validator rewards come from a pool that exists at genesis and is released over time. Releasing pooled tokens does not change total supply.

POLA has no burn either. Fees go to validators and to reserves, and reserves pay out again. Total supply stays constant.

The design checks this rule on every commit. If a state change would break the total, the chain halts instead of continuing.

Flat fees, no gas auctions

Fees follow a flat, published schedule. A fee is a base fee plus a small charge per byte. Both are fixed POLA amounts. There are no gas auctions and no priority tips.

There is no price oracle. Fees are set in POLA, so their dollar value moves with the POLA price. Governance reprices the schedule on a time-locked cadence to keep typical payments in a target band.

Users do not need to hold POLA to pay. Merchants and paymasters can sponsor fees for them.

Where POLA fees go

Every fee splits the same way. The validator share can never fall below 25 percent.

  • 45 percent goes to validators.
  • 50 percent goes to the Reward Reserve, which pays out over time.
  • 5 percent goes to the Compliance Reserve.
  • Nothing is burned.

Try POLA on the testnet

The faucet gives 10 POLA per claim, once every 24 hours for each wallet, so you can try a transfer on the public testnet.

Frequently asked questions

What is the total supply of POLA?

Total supply is fixed at 210,000,000,000 POLA, created once at genesis.

Is POLA inflationary?

No. Nothing mints POLA after genesis. Validator rewards are released from a pool that exists at genesis, so total supply does not change.

Does Polaris burn fees?

No. Fees are split between validators, a Reward Reserve and a Compliance Reserve. Nothing is destroyed, so supply stays constant.

How do POLA fees work?

A fee is a flat base fee plus a per byte charge, both in POLA. There are no gas auctions or tips. Governance reprices the schedule on a time-locked cadence, and sponsors can pay fees for users.

Can I get POLA on the testnet?

Yes. The faucet at https://testnet.polarischain.com/faucet gives 10 POLA per claim, once every 24 hours for each wallet.
